DIRECTIVES TO STUDENTS

Read the directives carefully and sign the declaration given on the first page of the handbook.

  • The religious services and classes on religion arranged for tudents are geared to a genuine and solid religious formation, not making use of these opportunities is contrary to the values cherished by the School. There will be value education classes which will have to be attended by all students.
  • Girideepam School students are expected to behave in a becoming manner on and outside the School Campus.
  • Students should be neat and clean in person and dress.
  • Class rooms and School premises should be kept neat and clean.
  • They should reach the School before second bell and be prompt in taking part in the assembly before the class.
  • They have to come well prepared with all the lessons previously done and after doing the day’s home work properly. Regular tests will be conducted, based on which, an evaluation report will be prepared and parents will be informed about the same on a scheduled date.
  • Examinations and other activities of evaluation are compulsory to all. Any malpractice during these evaluations will be strictly punished.
  • Politeness and courtesy of speech and conduct will be inculcated by insistence and training.
  • Quarrelsome nature, habitual idleness, dishonesty and disobedience or disrespect to teachers and elders will be very seriously viewed and dealt with accordingly.
  • Running, playing or shouting inside the School building is not allowed. No student will enter any class other than his or her own without permission.
  • When students move along the corridors they must walk in silence and in a single file. They should always keep left.
  • The School shall not be held responsible in any way for any illness, injury, accident or mishap to any student, but first aid and medical assistance will be given if found necessary.
  • Students must be disciplined in common places like cafeteria, auditorium, bus, toilet, library, laboratory, play grounds etc.
  • Students should greet in respect all teachers, staff and elders in the campus.
  • Students are expected to be out of the School building within 15 minutes following the School dispersal. Only students involved in staff-supervised activities are permitted to remain in the campus.
  • Students shall not bring or wear costly ornaments, watches, mobile phone, camera or any other electronic items in school. These items will be confiscated.
  • Only girls are allowed to wear small earrings or studs. No second studs or second rings are permitted.
  • Boys and girls are not allowed to wear bracelets, bangles, chains, rings, friendship bands, tattoo or such decorations.
  • Girls have to keep the hair plaited or tucked with black or blue hair band or clips.
  • Regularly cut, properly combed hair and clean shaven face is compulsory for boys.
  • Fancy hair cut is not permitted.
  • Nails are to be clipped close. Low waist pants are not permitted
  • If at the start of the class the teacher has not arrived, the class leader will see that order and silence is maintained. If after three minutes, the teacher has not yet arrived, the leader should send assistant leader to inform the Principal/Vice principal.
  • Students may not be summoned to answer telephone calls during class time.
  • Girideepam is an English medium School and its medium of instruction is English. Staff and students are expected to speak only English in the School campus.
  • No Student should absent himself/herself without prior sanction.
  • Leave of absence must be obtained from the Principal by written application from the parent/guardian.
  • Repeated or extended absence of fifteen days or more without leave renders the student liable to have his name struck off the rolls. Re-admission, if granted, will only be after payment of fresh admission fee.
  • Students who absent themselves from the Terminal Examinations for any reason other than sickness justified by a Doctor’s Certificate, will be considered as having failed for that particular examination.
  • Any damage or loss of the School properties caused by the students, will be notified to their parents or guardians in time and it shall be their obligation to make good the damage.
  • Each student is given an identity card; and a copy of this card should be carried by the guardian or the concerned for all matters with regard to the Students and should be produced on demand.
  • Every student is responsible for the safe keeping of his or her own belongings. The School will not take up any responsibility for their loss.

 

GUIDELINES FOR PARENTS

The school solicits your cooperation to help bring out the best in the child fulfilling the goals of education. Parents are exhorted to pay due attention to these aspects of a child’s growth and work hand in hand with the school.

  • Parents are requested to go through the student handbook and be fully aware of the rules and regulations of the school.
  • The school insists on punctuality, regular school attendance, regulation regarding school uniform, cleanliness in dress, good grooming and fidelity to study and work assignments.
  • Parents should take interest in the child’s academic and non academic areas of growth.
  • Parents may visit the official website of the school for necessary information on working of the school.
  • Parents may meet the teachers on weekdays after 2:15 pm only to discuss matters relating to your wards.
  • Parents may meet the Principal on weekdays between 8 am and 11 am only.
  • Parents are requested not to enter the classroom to see their children or teachers during school hours.
  • Parents or visitors are not allowed to move around through the corridors during class hours.
  • Parents should ensure that their children do not bring any valuables to school. They should also discourage buying and bringing of expensive items, including stationery and other items.
  • The school discourages absenteeism and parents should not allow the students to skip classes.
  • Parents should make sure that for any absence from the school, a written intimation is sent to the class teacher.
  • Absence from school for merely social functions is discouraged.
  • Only parents are authorised to collect their child from the school. *If a parent has an objection to rule 13, he/she may inform the Principal accordingly.
  • Parents must affix their photographs in the space given in the student handbook. A guardian’s name and photo may be givenon the profile page of the student handbook so that in case of an emergency where the parent is unavailable, the student can be allowed to leave with the guardian.
  • A parent/ authorised guardian requiring to collect his/ her ward must first report at the school office.
  • Special permission for a student to leave the campus must be sanctioned only by the Principal / Vice Principal.
  • Parents are advised to attend all scheduled PTMs (Parent Teacher Meetings). Parents and guardians are expected to respond seriously to any call from the school to discuss matters concerning their wards. This is essential for the welfare and progress of the students.
  • Parents are to notify the school regarding any changes in their address or contact numbers
  • Parents are to provide ample opportunities to their children to converse in English at home.
  • Parents must refrain from criticism of any teacher or authority of the school in front of their children.
  • Parents are requested to go through the fee structure and ensure that all installment are paid on time.
