Upholding the sagacious and educational vision of the 'Servant of God', Archbishop Mar Ivanios, Bethany Fathers began a school that later turned out to be the TEMPLE OF LEARNING for hundreds of young citizens. For over 47 years, Girideepam pioneers the noble task of unlocking potential and transforming lives through education, dispelling the gloom and brightening the world.
Girideepam had a very humble beginning in 1975 with a dozen of tiny tots in a room attached to Bethany Ashram, Kalathipady, Kottayam. The Bethany Fathers and a group of teachers answering to the need for holistic education has through their saga of dauntless will, tireless energy, single-minded devotion, ceaseless striving and prayers laid the foundation stone of Girideepam. Over the years, the school grew in leaps and bounds. In 1987, Girideepam Bethany High School presented the first batch of SSLC. Since then, an uninterrupted history of total pass with top State Ranks and grades continues.
On 5th of August 2002, the Fathers of the Bethany Congregation began the school at Bethany Hills, Kalathipady, Kottayam with 29 pupils along with the already existing high school. In 2005 we got permission to start 3 science batches and one commerce batch to a total strength of 400 students both in Std. XI and Std. XII from here starts the ever-evolving dynamic educational institution.
From its very inception, Girideepam has enthusiastically engaged in promoting the integral growth of the students, by forming them to be men and women for others, to mature as persons of conscience, competence, compassion and commitment to build a just and humane society. The schools have a track record of academic excellence as well as co-curricular competency, in arts (champions in panchavadyam, parichamuttu and thiruvathira) Sports and games (Basketball & Volleyball).
As the motto of the school, In Pursuit of Excellence, Girideepam strives to achieve greater things through an earnest pursuit for excellence in everything. It imparts quality education and enriches the learning environment in order to optimize each child’s overall development and help realize its full potential. The learning environment is child-centered and the curriculum is enriched by music, art, physical education, computer education, library, reading program, value education, communicative English etc.Personality grooming is ensured through value education and counselling.
